DALLAS MAN IS SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS
IN FEDERAL PRISON, WITHOUT PAROLE,
FOR COMMITTING SECOND BANK ROBBERY

DALLAS
— Today, U.S. District Judge Sam A. Lindsay sentenced Leonard Bernard Wilson, 39, of Dallas, to 84 months in federal prison for committing a bank robbery using a dangerous weapon, announced U.S. Attorney James T. Jacks of the Northern District of Texas.

Wilson admitted displaying a knife when he robbed the Comerica Bank, located at 18965 LBJ Freeway, in Mesquite, Texas, on July 9, 2010. A few days later, Wilson turned himself in to the Mesquite Police Department.

Wilson was also convicted of robbing Oaks Bank and Trust, located at 4849 Greenville Avenue, in Dallas, in 1997; he was sentenced to serve 70 months in federal prison on that conviction in 1997.

The case was investigated by the FBI and the Mesquite Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Phelesa Guy was in charge of the prosecution.
